The Rancher

With some extra time and material on our hands we have constructed at our yard a Scandinavian full scribe log shell designed as a bungalow style cottage. This shell features massive hand peeled white pine logs, an attractive entrance way log frame, and a ½ octagon wall encircled by log posts that frame ample glass windows and doors for generous viewing of lakeside vistas. Delivered and reassembled on your foundation with: hidden double gaskets between logs and in notches, window and door openings precisely cut and fitted with DeVries's specially designed adjustment free sub frames, wall channels cut where interior partitions meet log walls and fitted with DeVries's unique wall settling adjustment system, electrical chases drilled for 25 electrical outlets, switches or light locations with 25 mortises cut into logs where outlet, switch or light electrical boxes are placed, additional channels cut in log beams where required to accept wall finishes or trim and a complete set of BCIN and engineered stamped building plans for: $95,500 plus GST*

The Meadow

The Meadows is a piece en piece style log building which has historical roots in traditional Quebec and Acadian architecture. (Click on thumbnails to view larger version in new window.)

White Pine logs 14 to 18 inches in diameter are sawn on two sides to 8 inches in thickness after which the sawn surfaces are hewn with traditional broad axes to authenticate the time-honored appearance of New World pioneer log buildings. The logs are then stacked to form walls that fit between 9x9 posts that are capped with 9x9 beams. This 9X9 frame provides the structural support for the second floor and roof. Timber rafters sit on round log purlins to form the principal roof frame. Window and doors openings are precut to accept window door installation. The log work is loaded, shipped and assembled by our crew on your foundation. A complete set of BCIN and engineered stamped building plans are provided. Price is $93,500.00 plus GST.*

The style of log construction used for The Meadows allows considerable flexibility for changes and additions to the plan. This structure can be tailored to your specific needs; additional charges for changes may apply.
